Jay-Z is taking a stand against the shocking lawsuit that accused him of assault—now, newly surfaced recordings are shifting the entire narrative.
A private audio recording obtained by Rolling Stone and first reported by ABC News features Jane Doe—the woman who recently dismissed her case against Jay-Z and Diddy—stating that Jay-Z never assaulted her. Even more, the woman can be heard claiming that her lawyer, Tony Buzbee, “pushed” her to include Jay-Z in the lawsuit.
The Bombshell Recording
In the recording, private investigators—who were sent by Jay-Z’s team—visit the woman at her Alabama home on February 21. She appears calm and speaks freely, openly admitting that Jay-Z was not involved in any assault.
“He was just there, but he didn’t have anything to do with the any sexual acts towards you. It was strictly…” an investigator asks.
“Yeah,” Doe replies.
When pressed further, she confirms that her attorney, Tony Buzbee, was the one who led her to implicate Jay-Z.
“He was the one that kind of pushed me towards going forward with him. With Jay-Z,” she said.
Buzbee Fires Back, Calls Recording a “Fabrication”
Buzbee, who has filed over two dozen lawsuits against Diddy, immediately hit back, claiming that the recording was “pieced together” and that his client was “tricked and tormented” into making statements that were taken out of context.
In a separate conversation recorded by ABC News, Buzbee asks his client if she denied Jay-Z’s involvement.
“No, no. I don’t. I’ve never said that,” she insists.
Jane Doe’s History Raises Questions
Court documents obtained by Rolling Stone also raise questions about Doe’s credibility. A 2015 deposition from a medical expert confirmed that Doe had previously reported hearing voices that “other people don’t hear.” Additionally, in February 2023, she filed a motion to be transferred to mental health court for a pending legal matter, citing a history of severe mental health disorders.
Jay-Z Is Fighting Back With His Own Lawsuits
After Doe’s lawsuit was dropped, Jay-Z took immediate legal action. He is now suing both Tony Buzbee and Jane Doe for defamation.
In his first lawsuit, filed last November, he claimed Buzbee attempted to extort him by demanding a private settlement. Jay-Z described it as an “existential threat” to his reputation, stating:
“I felt that Mr. Buzbee was placing a gun to my head—that I either bow to his demands or endure personal and financial ruin.”
His second lawsuit, filed this month in Alabama, accuses Doe of malicious prosecution, abuse of process, and civil conspiracy.
What’s Next?
Jay-Z is standing firm against the allegations, while Buzbee remains deeply entangled in the federal investigation against Diddy. The powerful Texas attorney has over 120 clients making claims against the hip-hop mogul, who remains in federal custody on racketeering and sex trafficking charges.
Diddy has denied all accusations and is set to appear in court on Friday to enter a plea to an updated indictment.
What do you think? Was this an attempt to destroy Jay-Z’s reputation, or does the truth lie somewhere in between?
