A Shift in Creative Vision
Cudi admits that for much of his career, he was highly protective of his creative process. He rarely collaborated on albums, preferring to shape his vision without outside influence. But over time, he began to open up to the idea of building music from the ground up with like-minded creatives.
“It’s really exciting when you get somebody like-minded in the studio, and they understand your vision and also have something to add to it… Collaboration has pushed my mind to spaces I probably wouldn’t have gone alone.”
For this new project, Cudi challenged himself to step out of his comfort zone. Instead of piecing together beats from different producers, he committed to writing, recording, and building songs from scratch in the studio.
“I didn’t know if I would even be able to sing at the level I needed to in order for it to be executed in the right way. But working on these songs and collaborating… it did something for me as an artist. I haven’t created like this in a long time.”

More than just a musical evolution, this album represents the happiest time in Kid Cudi’s life. He describes it as an intensely personal and emotional journey, driven by the love he has for his fiancée, Lola Abecassis Sartore.
“The album is damn-near dedicated to my fiancée. Every song is like a love song with me kind of confessing my love, so it was very, very fulfilling.”
Cudi promises that while the sound may feel different, it will still carry the signature essence of who he is as an artist. He believes fans will be blown away by the new energy and emotional depth of the project.
