In celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Sims, Kim Petras has rerecorded ‘XXX’ in Simlish.
Simlish is the official language of The Sims and has been used to recreate songs by artists such as Paramore, My Chemical Romance, Lily Allen and mxmtoon. To celebrate 25 years since the original life simulator game was released, developers got Kim Petras and Gigi Perez to re-record two of their biggest songs.
‘XXX’ from Kim Petras’ 2022 EP ‘Slut Pop’ is available via The Sims 4’s Pop Radio station, while Perez’ viral hit ‘Fable’ can be heard on the Alternative Radio station.

A Smilish take on Petras’ ‘Malibu’ was added to The Sims 4 back in 2020.
In honour of The Sims’ 25th anniversary, EA re-released the original two games for the PC and hosted a mammoth 25 hour livestream that featured a chaotic appearance from Doja Cat.
“I’ve been playing The Sims since I was nine and I played [all of them], even the ones in the future,” Doja said during a stream which saw her create 25 Bella Goths and set the kitchen on fire.
“This game is more than filling houses with ovens, making toast and torturing people. There’s so much more to this game. I think that the most important thing to know is that you can create your own scenarios, characters, experiences and you can take it wherever you want to take it,” she added. “Do your thing, because that’s what I do.”
Last year, The Last Dinner Party performed their breakout single ‘Nothing Matters’ in Simlish during their headline gig in Dublin.
EA have also confirmed that the next game in the long-running franchise won’t be a direct sequel to 2014’s The Sims 4. “The way to think about it is, historically, The Sims franchise started with Sims 1 and then Sims 2, 3, and 4. And they were seen as replacements for the previous products,” Sims general manager Kate Gorman explained. “We are not going to be working on replacements of previous projects [any more]; we’re only going to be adding to our universe.”
In other news, it looks like Hogwarts Legacy fans could be getting an expansion ahead of a sequel.
