A best-selling book series might inspire a family trip to the movies this weekend.
Dog Man, an animated film adaptation of the children’s graphic novel series of the same name, arrives in theaters from DreamWorks on Jan. 31. K-5 school kids are likely to be familiar with the title, and/or author Dav Pilkey’s other hugely successful series, Captain Underpants. It’s comedy. It’s adventure. And its protagonist is part man, part dog. What a way to celebrate the joy of reading and the fun of seeing a movie — with the whole family (it’s rated PG).
As Sunday nears, plan to relax at home watching the 2025 Grammy Awards, which will salute music talent — and, this year, support Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts. Young music fans are likely to recognize pop hits performed by current stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX and Benson Boone, and maybe by the end of the ceremony you’ll all have some new-to-you artists added to your playlists.
