The acclaimed comedy-drama Mo is back on Netflix for a second season, but what songs are included in the new episodes? Read on for the full list.
The show is co-created by its leading star Mo Amer alongside Ramy Youssef and it is loosely based on Amer’s own experiences as a Palestinian refugee navigating life in the United States.
The first season premiered on the streaming service in August 2022 and now the second run of eight episodes have landed, as of January 30. Check out the trailer for season two below.
Netflix have said the new season “will bring its hero’s journey for asylum to an end, with Amer reprising his role as Mo, alongside Teresa Ruiz (Maria), Farah Bsieso (Yusra), and Omar Elba (Sameer), who are back as series regulars.”
“The new episodes find Mo stranded across the border and desperate to get back to Houston before his family’s asylum hearing. But as a stateless refugee without a passport, he’s gonna need all the hustle and charm he can muster. Little does he know that the journey home is just the start of his troubles, and there’s a new guy in town ready to steal both his longtime love, Maria — and his falafel taco recipe.”
In addition to the returning cast, season two will also feature guest stars including Hannibal Buress, Liza Koshy and Ralph Barbosa.
Mo soundtrack: every song in the Netflix comedy series
As with season one, the new episodes feature original compositions from veteran rapper Common, alongside jazz drummer Karriem Riggins and producer Patrick Warren.
In addition, the episodes include a number of needle drop moments from artists including Ray Charles, Nina Simone and Coldplay.
