The Queen of Pop is now the Queen of the Mic—well, almost. Madonna made a surprise return to stand-up comedy over the weekend at New York City’s Comedy Cellar, performing an unexpected 30-minute set after an invite from her longtime friend Amy Schumer.
According to reports from The Sun, Madonna’s set left the audience stunned—but maybe not for the reasons she was hoping.
A Tough Crowd for a Pop Icon
Performing at the legendary club on Saturday night (January 27), Madonna stepped onto the stage to a room that was shocked into silence at the sight of the pop superstar testing out her comedic chops.
🔥 “She did well enough, but the audience was so stunned it was Madonna that it took them the entire set to warm up to her,” a source told The Sun.
