Blakk Rasta returned from Jamaica and the United States last month with clean visuals of his hit song Barber Shop featuring Jamaican Reggae legend, Anthony B.
The Kuchoko Legend as he is affectionately called has been under intense pressure from fans to release visuals for the monster Kuchoko hit having seen a number of music videos for a number of songs on his new Salaga Soljah album.
“We shot the video in the Bronx in New York in Tupac Shakur’s last known hood – 183 Concourse Street. Here, we had a huge crowd join us on set and singing the song after just listening to it once. We then flew to Jamaica to film in Ocho Rios at the Dunn’s River.” Blakk Rasta said proudly.
“The song is a tribute to Jamaican Reggae hero, Jacob Miller. So, it was just befitting and respectful to film in Jamaica, the birthplace of Jacob Miller and Reggae.”
Barber Shop was originally done by Jacob Miller which he called Tenement Yard. Blakk Rasta gave the song a new twist and fresh lyrics portraying Samson and Delilah in the Bible.
It is one of the 20 songs on Blakk Rasta’s Salaga Soljah which got shortlisted for the Grammys but missed a nomination by a whisker.
