Renowned Nigerian gospel artiste and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to minister at the prestigious Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

The event is scheduled for January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C., ahead of Trump’s swearing-in as president.

The Akwa Ibom-born pastor shared the exciting news on his Instagram account, posting a promotional flyer for the event. Alongside the poster, he wrote, “Let’s raise a sound in America. See you on January 20, 2025.”

The U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast is a non-political, faith-based event that takes place every four years, providing spiritual support to the incoming administration. The gathering emphasizes prayer and worship and is hosted this year at the Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom by Reverend Merrie Turner.

The event will also feature a lineup of prominent speakers, including Dr. Alveda King and Pastor Mario Bramnick, as part of the program preceding the inauguration of President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance.

Nathaniel Bassey, widely known for his soul-stirring worship music and as the founder of the globally acclaimed Hallelujah Challenge, has made a significant impact in the gospel music scene. His songs, such as Imela, Onise Iyanu, and Olowogbogboro, have resonated with audiences worldwide. With a repertoire that blends jazz, hymns, and worship medleys, he remains one of Nigeria’s most celebrated gospel ministers.

In addition to his musical contributions, Bassey was honored in 2024 when the Mayor of Albany, New York, declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day,” further cementing his global influence.
