Taken off their upcoming album ‘Missionary’, ‘Outta Da Blue’ marks the first preview of the project – which will see the two rap icons reunite for a full-length project for the first time since Snoop’s debut album ‘Doggystyle’ in 1993.

Snoop raps on the opening verse: “Bottles and bitches, believe we back in business / The shit I be smoking is highly recommended / This for all of my niggas pushing the limit“.

The track – which includes verses from Dre as well – also features singer Alus on the chorus, who interpolates M.I.A.‘s ‘Paper Planes’. Listen to Snoop Dogg’s and Dr. Dre’s ‘Outta Da Blue’ below.

The album will be released on December 13 via Death Row Records, the legendary hip-hop label that he acquired in 2022. It is set to feature a host of stars, including Sting.

Dre had previously said he hoped for a November release date, and explained that ‘Missionary’ differs from ‘Doggystyle’ because: “This one’s gonna show a different level of maturity with his lyrics and with my music. I feel like this is some of the best music I’ve done in my career.”

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight after performing for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games handover celebration – which also included Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dr. Dre revealed that his bond with Snoop goes much further than just recording music in the studio.

He revealed: “I don’t even feel comfortable performing without Snoop. Something about the synergy that me and Snoop have is really interesting.” He went on to add, “Really, Snoop, he’s the superstar. I’m the co-star when we get on stage. It’s different when we’re in the studio, you know? I’m the captain when we’re in the studio, but when we go outside, Snoop is the guy.”

Snoop also recently spoke about meeting Sexyy Red for the first time and telling her “you got star power”. He is also reported to have made $9million (£7.1million) for his spotlight-stealing antics at this year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
