One of the most successful regional Mexican groups, Calibre 50 is no stranger to leading the pack, and the group is at again with its record-extending 26th No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart, as “El Amor De Mi Vida” jumps 2-1 to lead the Nov. 2-dated list.

“El Amor De Mi Vida” registered 6.6 million audience impressions in the U.S. during the Oct. 18-24 tracking week, according to Luminate; that’s a 14% gain in airplay from the week prior. The move sends La Fiera de Ojinaga and Tapy Quintero’s “El Mejor De Mis Días” to No. 5, after the latter’s 16% dip in audience (to 5 million).

With the move, Calibre 50 adds its record-padding 26th Regional Mexican Airplay No. 1 among 50 career entries, dating to its first, “Ni Que Estuvieras Tan Buena” in 2013. The group broadens the gap from Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga with 21 career champs. Here’s a recap of the six acts with most rulers in the 30-year-old tally, where Christian Nodal ranks as the only solo singer:

26, Calibre 50

21, Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga

20, Intocable

18, Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga

18, La Arrolladora Banda el Limón de Rene Camacho

17, Christian Nodal

“El Amor De Mi Vida” also leaps to No. 5 (from No. 10) on the overall Latin Airplay tally for Calibre 50’s highest chart visit in more than a year, since “Dirección Equivocada” peaked at No. 3 in April 2023. In between, the Sinaloans placed two additional top 10s, both reaching a No. 7 high.

Further, Calibre 50 joins six other regional Mexican groups who have achieved a top five or higher on the overall recap unassisted by any other collaborator in 2024. They are La Fiera de Ojinaga (“Neta Que No”), Los Dos Carnales (“Gracias A Ti”), Intocable (“Ojalá Estuvieras Aquí”), Grupo Firme (“El Beneficio de La Duda”), Los Tigres del Norte (“Aquí Mando Yo”) and Los Ángeles de Charly (“El Primer Tonto”).
