Born on July 11, 1942, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, professionally known as Olu Jacobs, was a towering figure in both Nollywood and British cinema. A distinguished graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the United Kingdom, Jacobs enjoyed an illustrious career spanning over 200 films. His immense talent and unwavering dedication earned him numerous accolades, including the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2013 and the esteemed National Honour of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2007, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
Jacobs’ passing has left an indelible void in the hearts of his family, friends, and countless admirers.
