The late Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, popularly as Mr Ibu, has been laid to rest in his hometown Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria.
The funeral was attended by family, friends, and colleagues from the entertainment industry. It was a somber yet celebratory event, with many sharing anecdotes of Mr. Ibu’s kindness, generosity, and the joy he brought into their lives.

Pallbearers were seen in the footage solemnly carrying his casket to the cemetery for burial.

Mr Ibu passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, following a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Mr. Ibu’s career spanned over two decades, during which he became a household name in Nigeria and beyond. His unique brand of humor, characterized by his expressive face and impeccable timing, endeared him to fans of all ages. He starred in over 200 films, including classics like “Mr. Ibu in London” and “Coffin Producers,” which remain beloved for their slapstick comedy and relatable characters.
