The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) on Saturday, June 15, 2024, hosted its inaugural Study Abroad Seminar and Fair in Ghana with Students of the University of Ghana, Legon.
The seminar was held to create awareness about Pearson PTE and give participants the opportunity to interact with Study abroad agents to help kick-start their journey.
The seminar provided students with information about how to obtain English language testing for international study applications and visa requirements, especially for countries such as Australia, the UK, New Zealand, and Canada.
Speaking during the event, the Business Development Specialist for PTE in Eastern, Southern and Western Africa, Mrs. Odame Yeboah highlighted that Pearson PTE offers a significant advantage over other language testing options due to its quick turnaround time for results.
According to her, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and automated scoring, PTE delivers results within 48 hours, compared to the 10-14 days typically required by other testing agencies. This expedited process can be particularly beneficial for individuals seeking migration or visa purposes, as it allows them to receive their language proficiency results swiftly, facilitating faster decision-making and planning for their immigration process.
“Our test is not a face-to-face assessment. Within 48 hours, the results are delivered because we utilize AI and automated scoring, eliminating the issue of panicking and anxiety while waiting for results.
”The computer-based test is conducted at approved centres, such as the Linear Assessment Services Centre at Total House building in Accra, and students can schedule their test dates at their convenience,” she noted.
Misss Jennifer Selasie King, representing the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Programme, also addressed the students, highlighting opportunities for full scholarships to study at the University of Pretoria (UP).
”The scholarship caters to students with financial needs, academic excellence, leadership qualities, and community engagement, covering full tuition, accommodation, textbooks, stipends, medical needs, visa fees, plane tickets, and annual travel home,” she said.
The Pearson PTE “Study Abroad” seminar and fair was organized in collaboration with several partners, including Crossmark Marketing, Edusol Education Consult, Edustar Consult, Best Education Services Ltd., Scholarly Consult, Phads Consult, Negxy Consult, ISAS, Easy Travel Consult, TGM Education, Psyche Consult, Mai Education, Edutrips Ventures, Ghanson Consult, Express Education Group, and UMB Bank.
