Nigerian veteran actor Zack Orji revealed that his marriage faced challenges following his role in the 1994 movie “Glamour Girls.”
During a conversation on the podcast “Nollywood Hardcore: The Legend’s Untold Story,” Orji disclosed that negative narratives surrounding his character in the film were communicated to his wife, causing strain in their relationship.
Orji’s involvement in a controversial nude scene with co-star Eucharia Anunobi triggered backlash and speculation, leading to his suspension from church activities by his pastor.
The two-part film “Glamour Girls,” directed by Chika Onukwufor, portrayed the lives of independent single women in Nigeria’s patriarchal society who turned to escort.
Notably, a widely discussed scene featured Orji and Anunobi in an intimate bathtub moment. Reflecting on the film’s impact, Orji acknowledged his wife’s understanding of his profession but admitted her objections to such roles.
However, the couple ultimately found ways to overcome the challenges and move forward.
