Ñengo Flow has signed an exclusive record contract with Rimas Entertainment in a bid for his international expansion, Billboard can announce today (Oct. 31).

The alliance that includes touring, merchandising, and brand partnerships strategies, “marks a significant step in the evolution of the reggaeton genre pioneer, known for the distinctive touch of his rhymes and the realism of his music,” according to a statement.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity and for Rimas’ support for my new projects,” the Puerto Rican urban music pioneer (real name: Edwin Rosa Vásquez) said in the press release. “I feel very motivated to surprise my entire ‘Real G’ family, those who have been with me since day one. ¡Vamos pa’ encima!”

“Ñengo is an artist who has all my respect and that of the entire industry, we are very happy to join him for this team collaboration,” added Noah Assad, CEO of Rimas Entertainment.

With a career that spans more than 20 years, Ñengo earned his first Billboard Hot 100 chart entry in 2020 with his participation on Bad Bunny’s “Safaera” from YHLQMDLG. The track peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. In 2021, his writing credits in the hard-hitting perreo won him a SESAC Latin Music Award for song of the year, pop/Latin rhythm;  and early this year, Ñengo claimed his highest-charting title on the Hot Latin Songs chart thanks to the Bad Bunny-assisted “Gato de Noche,” which was released three days before Christmas last year and debuted at No. 2 on the Jan. 7-dated list.

The artist — who’s also featured in “Acho PR, part of Bad Bunny’s latest album Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana — has posted four entries on the Billboard Top Latin Albums, including Los Reyes Del Rap, which reached a personal-best No. 5 in 2015.

As part of his next career move, Ñengo will release his label debut single, “De Aqui Pa’ Allá,” at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday (Oct. 31).
