The drama in A$AP Rocky’s gun assault trial just escalated with newly revealed text messages between the rapper and his former friend A$AP Relli. While Relli took the stand for the third day on Wednesday, January 29, screenshots of their heated conversation were shown in court—exposing Rocky’s immediate denial of the shooting allegations.
A$AP Rocky to Relli: “Stop Making This Up”
Just hours after the alleged shooting in November 2021, A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron) accused Rocky of trying to set him up before their explosive confrontation. Rocky was quick to shut it down.
“I tried to do what??” Rocky replied. “Stop making this up Rell.”
Relli, however, stood firm, claiming Rocky fired a gun at him and that the bullet grazed his left hand above his knuckles. He even claimed the incident was caught on camera.
Rocky was not having it and fired back with more accusations.
“Now you trying to extort me talking about I shot at you and shot you four times and all type of nonsense. You are a phony, and you don’t have the best intentions. Stop texting me, stop calling my manager, and call the police if I ‘shot’ at you, weirdo.”
Extortion Allegations & Rocky’s Defense
Rocky’s attorney, Jose Tacopina, doubled down on his client’s innocence, arguing that Relli was trying to extort Rocky. He claimed the rapper was carrying only a prop gun that couldn’t fire real bullets—strictly for security reasons.
With the trial still ongoing, it remains unclear whether Rihanna—who sat in the front row with Rocky’s mother and sister on Tuesday—will return to the courtroom today. She managed to dodge the media frenzy yesterday, but all eyes are on her as the case unfolds.
