A new Fortnite quest in the Summer Road Trip event can only be completed in a party, leaving solo players annoyed. There is a workaround, however.

As reported by GameRant, over on the Fortnite subreddit, some players were unhappy about the need to party up. The second of nine Summer Road Trip Quests requires players to earn 60,000 XP in with a party in Battle Royale, Reload, LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, or Festival mode. That’s a lot of XP, and many people prefer to play the game solo rather than in a party.
A simple fix, if you have two controllers and are playing on PlayStation or Xbox, is to activate the game’s splitscreen mode and log in the second controller on another account. This way, you can control two accounts, make them enter a party together, and drop into a mode of your choice. You likely won’t do very well, but you’ll get the quest done.

What’s sweet to see is other people on the subreddit offering to party up with people who say they don’t have any friends to play with. These kinds of quests are made to encourage people to play together, so it’s nice to see it working.
You should note that just filling up a squad with strangers won’t work for this quest. You actually have to be in the same party as them. If you don’t have a second controller, just try sending some party requests as you play, as others will likely be trying to complete this quest too and some should be happy to help.
In other news, Helldivers 2 has announced its biggest update is coming next month, and it will come with a whole new difficulty level as well as new mission objectives, new bugs and robots, and new environmental hazards.
